SYNOPSIS: Amongst the cane fields of rural Louisiana, an aging mother struggles between her religious convictions and the love of her son.

Burning Cane was written, directed and co-edited by 19 year old Phillip Youmans. His debut film won the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival Founders Award for Best Narrative Feature, Best Actor (Wendell Pierce), and Best Cinematography. Youmans will be present for the talkback.
